These terms apply to every application to Ascend 100, together with our Rules, Eligibility requirements and Selection Criteria.
Each company may submit one application. Everything in your application must be accurate. We may reject or withdraw an application or finalist place if information is false or misleading.
The application fee is CAD 99. Your application is confirmed for review only once the fee has been paid. The fee is non refundable in every circumstance, including if your application is not selected or does not meet the eligibility requirements, and if the event is changed, postponed or cancelled.
Our selection team reviews every confirmed application. We select 100 finalists and up to 20 reserves, and our decisions are final. We are unable to provide individual feedback on applications.
By applying, you agree that AscendTech may showcase your company, including its name, logo, description and product images, on its website and services. You confirm that you have the right to share this material. Applicants who are not selected can hide their showcase listing.
Pitch decks, financial information and long application answers are not published.
A finalist place is offered by email and must be accepted by the deadline given. After this date, the place may be offered to a startup on the reserve list. Places can become available to reserves up to four weeks before the event.
The package is for two people and covers return economy flights, hotel, airport transfers, meals and two event passes, subject to the funded package terms sent to finalists. Flights and hotel must be booked through our travel partner by the booking deadline. Visa fees, insurance, extra nights and additional team members are not covered.
Two founders or senior executives attend all three days and keep your stand staffed during Innovation Hall hours
You pitch at your scheduled time, in English
You supply your deck, video and profile by the content deadlines
You follow our Code of Conduct and accept that you may be photographed and filmed
A no show without good reason forfeits the place and repays booked travel costs.
Finalists obtain their own visas, supported by our letter of invitation. The decision to issue a visa rests with the Canadian authorities, and we cannot promise an outcome.
Awards are open to finalists only, and a startup can win one competition title and one special award at most. Judging decisions are final. Grants are subject to further terms agreed with the winners.
Applicants who are not selected receive an online showcase listing.
If circumstances require it, we may change dates, the format or the awards, and we will tell applicants about any major change.
